Useful Resources

This is a hugely comprehensive resource with a lot of websites which are generally paid for but are now available free.  The teachers will, at times, direct you to certain ones but we wanted to make them all available to you to look through.

Oak National Academy
A national initiative, financially supported by the government, produced by a collaboration of organisations with technological back up that schools alone could not access, providing a fantastic range of lessons for children of all ages.

BBC Bitesize

To help with the problem of demand on  internet devices, the BBC have added to their lockdown provision by putting some material on TV and iPlayer as well as online.

Programming for primary school pupils will be on CBBC between 09:00 and 12.00 every weekday.

There is also a Red button sevice and additionally all episodes will be available on catch-up, on demand on iPlayer.

Online the BBC are releasing free resources and daily online lessons which are really useful.

Test  your whole family's knowledge on the geography quizzes and see who is the capitals expert in your house.
Try the matching games with younger members of the family.
Have a go at some jigsaw puzzles.

You can even relax with some on line art.

Make sure you have a talk about not clicking on adverts which take you off the site.

First News
First News is a weekly newspaper aimed at 7 to 14-year-olds that aims to get kids talking about the news in an easy to understand and non-threatening way. Offering free issues for a limited time.

Amazon have cancelled  the subscription of books and audio stories for children and students of all ages as long as schools are closed, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.
